Toddler Group
Penhill Playgroup runs a Toddler Group twice a week, where mums/dads and carers can enjoy meeting others in a friendly and safe environment. Refreshments are provided for both adults and children and Playgroup staff are on hand to ensure the group runs smoothly.

Activities include playdough, books, train sets, ride on toys, puzzles, slide and arts and crafts. These sessions also provide opportunities for the Playgroup to fundraise and regular table sales of second hand clothes, books, toys etc. take place and are well supported.

We have found that children who have come to Toddlers settle into Playgroup well because they are familiar with the hall and the helpers.

Toddler Group Rules
For everyone’s safety and happiness, please remember:

• Your child is your own responsibility whilst you are here, although there is always a member of staff on duty should you have any problems or need help.
• Refreshments for adults and children are provided .
• Baby milk or food can be heated, if needed.
• Please ensure that all soiled nappies are placed in a nappy sack and then in the bin.
• Some activities on offer will need supervision.
• When outside please keep an eye on your child in case any exits have been left open.
• Please help to clear away toys at the end of the session.
• Please watch the notice board for future fundraising and social events.
• Have fun and enjoy yourselves!

Term Dates 2007/8

Autumn Term 2007
Monday 3rd September 2007 -  Friday 21st December 2007. Monday 3rd is an INSET day, pupils do not  go back to school until Tuesday 4th.
Half term is Monday 22nd October - Friday 26th October inclusive.

Spring Term 2008
Monday 7th January 2008 - Friday 4th April 2008.
Half term is Monday 18th February - Friday 22nd February inclusive.
Where / when is the Easter Holiday?
Schools will have Good Friday (21st March 2008) and Easter Monday (24 March 2008) off, and go back to school on 25th March until 4th April. The two weeks for Easter is the 7th April - 18th April inclusive. Summer Term then starts on 21 April. This is because the Easter bank holidays are so early in the year, so the terms had to be split more evenly.

Summer Term 2008
Monday 21st April 2008 - Wednesday 23rd July 2008.
Half term is Monday 26th May - Friday 30th May inclusive.

Summer Opening
Over the summer holidays, when it is able to, Penhill Playgroup opens its Toddler Group on a regular basis. For the last 2 years, the Playgroup has also put together a list of activities and events to which all families are invited, providing an opportunity to meet up with friends and have a picnic. This usually includes a day out at Brooklands, games day, visit to Drusillas, get together on the beach, meeting at a local park etc. Please check back here in July when we should have the list available.

Fundraising

The Fundraising team undertake fundraising events each term. These may include a raffle, table top sale or other similar ventures.

In April 2007, Tony Southam, the father of two children from our Playgroup and Toddler Group kindly offered to raise money for us by running the London Marathon. He succeeded in raising over £600, which is fantastic and very much appreciated.
